So! I was Zel, aka Ozer. I hope that was as much of a mindfish as intended. I'd had myself locked in that prison so as to stew in my growing powers. And finally, I was freed! Trying to take over the world was fun. And of course, props to you guys for killing me, and the people I transfered my awesomeness to.
I'll probably come back this to speak of more cool stuff I saw/killed. But in the meantime, you guys should fill this comment thread with great tales!
I was Pryka.
ReplyDeleteNo, seriously. A lot happened, but that really sums it up. I have never had a character that is so perfectly themself.
In the scene in which Tom/Zel/Ozer awoke, I/Jules/Kaldur was slashed across the gut, as I fell, Tom/Zel/Ozer froze time, eventually it unfroze, I continued to fall, then time was frozen again, in total I had 4 poses on the way down; by far my most epic death to date. Thanks Tom & Dustin, fantastic game!
ReplyDeleteI didn't play my original character because my spirit animal wasn't able to make it to game (Nichoel), so I played a horse slowly freezing and starving to death in Nolix (as evidenced by my hurried "HORSE" sign made of red tape).
ReplyDeleteThere was absolutely nothing magical or unusual about me, and I had no motivation or goal other than to live. I was a very well-trained warhorse but suspicious of groups of people with weapons, so I did a fair amount of "Wait! Problem: shouty people on all sides! Solution: run awaaaay!"
I eventually found Uul and ate a lot. Also, I had some conversations with Jonathon's character, and Benj's character insulted my mother, and Bryan's character rode on my back for a while, but he was a terrible rider.
Note: I'm amused by the fact that several people improv'd apples/carrots/oats in their pockets, though there's little reason for them to carry horse treats. XD
So I was Frakeon, the Dragon who Walks among Men (apparently Jaron was my other half, but i'm nut sure what was up with that). I was also Wrench Head, the cultist biker. I worked with the cult for the first half-of-game or so, until we split up and started each doing our own thing. I absolutely hated Love, and tried to kill him twice. Eventually, I came up with a really cool plan to try to keep the cultists from killing Ozer when he woke up. I heard somewhere that the Sundering Bonecrusher of Eternal Love was the only thing that could kill Ozer, so my plan was to let the red-flaming-hammer-kings (or whatever they called themselves) to wake up Ozer, as long as one of the cultists had the Sundering Bonecrusher. Then, our time-mage would speed the person with the Flail, and they would GTFO, and Ozer would do his thing.
ReplyDeleteThis didn't work.
After O-Zel got woken up and I saw that he was controlling the other Draconics, I ran away: I liked what I had been doing too much and wanted to see what life would be like under O-Zel. I ended up running away with Halope, the ex-leader of the cult. I ended up telling him who he was, and he, Paranoia, and I traveled together for a while. They wanted me to help them fight O-Zel, but I wouldn't do it, because I wanted to stay hidden. Later, I watched the battle on Uul between Daku's crew and O-Zel's. I ended up joining up with Daku's crew and was part of the circle that used the Brick of Stability to re-bind O-Zel. and that was game.
I was Akali, Knight of Zel. I think that even though this was supposed to be a comedy/adveture game, it was actually pretty serious for my character. I started off with Pryka and Nympestido, then i kinda ditched them for Daku, partly because i was totally in love with him but couldnt admit it AT all, and partly because i didnt trust him to get his quest done right. I think the funniest thig that happened was when i first met up with Roy/Daku and he was all "Oh hi Akali, long time no see." then i preceeded to beat the crap out of him as best i could (his peeps tried to stop me after a while)then i was all "hey Daku, whats up".
ReplyDeleteAnother pretty good scene was between me, Bryan, Bengy, and Colette(she loved the game btw) and we were trying to convince him with a select number of ways to show us where the heart flair was. It ended up in me gaging him with a Peace scarf.
definatly the most serious part of game for me was when Ozer/Zel "killed" Daku with the Time Hammer. I thought that he was killed for good and was literally crying over his "dead" body. I think it was the first time Akali realized that she was in love with Daku, which she later admitted to him. Anyway i was crying over his body for a good long while, even attemped to throw my knight of Zel sword at O-Zel, and missed. Then, of course, he came back to life via that green shard and i felt that was the happiest moment of Akali's life.
Yeah it was a pretty good game. Cudos Tom & Dustin!
thank you for picking up on my O-Zel thing. I hope I've started a trend.
ReplyDelete@Kaide: I looked over the cast list, and 7 out of the total 33 people in game were at least part dragon, and therefore capable of taking horse feed out of their pockets without it having been there beforehand.
ReplyDeleteI was two characters. First, I was Wisidang “The Blower”, an extremely skilled adventurer and explorer from Uul. I was the foil to Elias “Kid” “The Cloud” (played by Kaya, who couldn’t come to this game), and our canonical separation brought out my flaws, essentially that I was quite a foppish, gentlemanly fool when it came to people. I had a great time being a bit of an eccentric tag-along on the Red King faction, following them to earn the fame (fame and glory were my primary motivations, followed by exploring) of freeing Ozer. I didn’t quite get how bad a dude Ozer was, and Elias wasn’t around to correct me. One of my favorite things in game was being surprisingly effective. After I retrieved the Jealousy knife from a fleeing Love (Reese), Rhefelli (Devon), the captain of this squad of the Red Kings, was shocked I, Wisidang “The Blowhard” to him, had managed to get a legendary weapon. All my boasts in game were true, though of course no one believed me. In the end, I was chosen as a herald of Ozer/Zel, which was perfect for Wisidang, as that was merely an excuse to explore EVEN MORE. All of Nolix and all of Uul, in fact.
ReplyDeleteI also had a great game as my second character, Raya. You know when Tom was referring to how it was a bit unclear as to who had sealed Ozer away, though it was thought to be Iniru? He was referring to me, Raya, Slayer of Wolves, Master of the dragon Ruleach (not in game), Wielder of the Brick of Stability (from the role play). I was a crazy powerful magic user. I engineered the end of game, using four other mages each with a weapon from the original sealing. We formed a pentagram around a powerful item that I had infused over the years (2000 or 3000) with even more power, and waited for two minutes as the final battle raged a few feet away from us. Then I sealed Zel/Ozer away. My favorite moment as Raya was when the final band of heroes was marching from Ozer’s prison to the grassy field of the final battle, and I wanted to undo the madness enchantments on the weapons (so people besides the original guardian’s wouldn’t go mad from using them in the final battle). I was asking Roy (forget his character) for his time hammer, and he kept refusing me. I told him I had made the damn thing, and he handed it over and said something like “Wow. Wow. Damn.” It was a wonderful way to show and respect my status, and really made my game as Raya. Thank you, Roy. I assumed I had made the weapons, as I had been the one to perform the sealing magic.
There was only one bad thing that happened to me in game, but it was pretty serious. I forget who the new guy was, but he was a wonderful role player. I heard him agonizing in passing over killing and having a crisis of faith because of that. However, he told me that he had hidden the weapon of Love somewhere around Ozer’s tomb (this was near the end of game, when all the weapons but the Love flail had been found), and I spent 30-40 minutes in game looking for the damn thing, spurred on by his repeated assurances it was around. I caught up to him as he left the area and he told me (in character, of course) that he had been lying. I realize that this may have been in character for you, trying to prevent the opening of the tomb, but I spent a good chunk of game running around futilely, as opposed to actually having fun and interesting character interactions. Please don’t do things like that in the future.
Interesting note: both my characters were dragons. Wisidang was the Phraekion, the Dragon Who Walks Among Men, or at least the half of him from Uul. He has a fun time being a character and doing cool things in a mortal disguise (until that one dies or gets boring). Raya was a piece of another half of a dragon. I forget which one.
@Jaron: I'm pretty sure it was Bryan who hid the flail… But in retrospect, I probably could've given them some kind of "cannot be hidden" clause.
ReplyDeleteThe issue was not that it was hidden, it was that one of us told them it was hidden when, in fact, he had nothing to do with it. Though I would have thought the uncontrollable laughter of him, me, and Azra would have been a bit of a hint
