Yeah, Tom, the forums are a good place for story circle. As much as possible, we should do stuff on the forums! They're a good thing! The Blog is good for administrative stuff, and, well, the stuff its mostly had so far. But the forums are better for things like story circle.
I agree! Why would we want to distance ourselves from the rest of the community? I know a lot of Wayfolk read the Westfinder forums, especially the story threads. At least two people came to me yesterday to ask me to explain the world background so they could understand the story thread.
Westfinder is a Live-Action Role-Playing group, residing in the San Francisco Bay Area. Combining improvisational acting with safe, non-competitive play, it is a spinoff of Wayfinder, a company based in New York (www.wayfinderexperience.com).
Just 'cause it seems like the thread on the WFE forums took off first:

I like the blog for it, mostly 'cause it feels more independent, and like it's our game.
ReplyDeleteI don't really see the point of "more independent." We have a tool that is the forums, and even our own section of the forums. Why not use that?

*shrug* I dislike the feeling of dependence it gives, that's all.
